He speaks very quietly and modestly to express his talent that was shaped and properly formulated by his long experience. He uses the simple words that we miss nowadays because of the sophisticated language we tend to use. He captures you with his talk that reminds you of what is original and unique and with his style that goes beyond the traditional styles.
Is the artistic output an action or a reaction? And why?
Initially, it should be a reaction to a stimulus that may be considered as irrelevant by some people, but not by the artist who, then, converts it to an action. This is because an artist is like a pure mirror that reflects whatever passes in front of it, even if for a few seconds.

Does your artistic output stimulate you when you see it finished?
Yes.. it pushes me to go on. By the way, a painting is an opened window, but when it is placed on a wall the recipient becomes confined within its borders. Probably this is why some people say that my paintings are mysterious. Actually, I don’t know how they became like this. Probably, it is because of the paintings themselves, or maybe this is how the recipients made them look like… or it might be me without being aware of it. |

Don’t you see that you are drifting between loyalty to the past and your memory on the one hand and proving yourself for the future on the other?
I think so. But it is not drifting it may be the triple components (past, present and future) that get closer and closer to each other for form a circle at the end and then to form a memory whose name is Hameed Nawfal who can be analyzed by those who will follow to see how it is possible to document the moment and this is what I aspire to do.
The fact that you are not using one style is really perplexing, which may give a reason for criticizing you
As I said, I am in a state of continuous search. Scientifically speaking, wind goes everywhere and in all directions, however, nobody criticizes it.

In some of your works, one may get lost between the past and the future, with the exception of history, how can we measure your evolution as an artist?
In fact there is no distinction between what comes first and what comes later. Actually, it is this recurrent dialogue that will form the circle I told you about earlier. It is the compass with which I can draw the triple circle that marks my evolution as an artist, and I leave this to the judgment of the recipients.
In some of your works, a recipient may get lost between the women who is present in the spirit of the painting and the big area dedicated for the ruins of your city “Shahba”
Sometimes, woman can be the pain of the spirit and some other times it is a piece of hope. Sometimes she is beautiful and some other times she is distorted. Simply, it is as if you are condensing nature that has both materials and spirit.
Shahba is full of old and new memories. There I hear the horses neighing and their footsteps on the basalt stones. These basalt stones made my mind inhabited with history and in my imagination and its vast agricultural lands gave landscape to my paintings. This relationship is evidently reflected in my paintings which are in a way similar to me and to nature as well. The topography of that region is both soft and hard. It is distinguished for transparent weather and blank and warm colors. It has a painting of sandy colors that starts from red soil and passes by black basalt stone to reach the full image of the regions climate.
