GET AN ADULT to turn the oven onto
200oc/400oF/Gas Mark 6 and put a shelf onto
the centre runner. (Aga Roasting oven -
shelf on oven floor)

Remove the Pastry from the fridge, Sprinkle
a clean flat surface with the flour and roll
out the pastry into a rectangular shape
until it is approximately 2-3mm thick.

GET AN ADULT peel the apples, you may like
to try yourself if you have an adult to show
you how to do, be careful, peelers are
sharp. GET AN ADULT to help you use the
apple corer to core the apples and then help
you to cut each apple in half through the
core. This be quite hard as you need to be
strong to push the corer through the apple.

Place each apple half, flat side down onto
the chopping board and GET AN ADULT to help
you thinly slice each apple half, try to
keep the slices together.

GET AN ADULT to supervise you and slice the
pastry into 12 x smaller rectangles. Lightly
grease the baking tray and transfer the
small rectangles onto the tray. Pick up a
sliced half of apple and gently spread this
out so the apple half lies flat and place
these in the centre of each piece of pastry

Place a tablespoon of apricot jam in the
heatproof bowl and place in the microwave on
a medium heat for 15 seconds until the jam
is warm. Remove, ensuring that the bowl
isn’t hot and ‘paint’ all over the apples
and pastry with a pastry brush. Use the
Teaspoon to sprinkle the sugar over the top
of each apple tart too.

GET AN ADULT to put the baking tray into the
centre of the oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes
until they are golden brown and the apple
has softened.

GET AN ADULT to take the buns out of the
oven and lift them onto the wire rack to
cool. These are lovely eaten warm out of the
oven or they will keep for 2-3 days in an
airtight container. |
