I am a Woman . . . Do not oppress me!
I am the Origin . . . Do not distort me!
I am the Mother of the World
Do not undervalue me!
Your lascivious eyes usurp my mind.
Your wolfish gaze shatters my soul,
Humiliates
me
Your motives are too base to touch the human being in me.
Oh, my dear, do not despise my ability!
Do not mock my femininity!
If you hear my steps echoing on a crowded road,
Do not predict a feast for the savage within you.
Do not prey on me with your insulting eyes.
I am not an empty body and a pretty face:
Just behold me!
Thank God for sending me
As one of His images incarnated on earth.
No, dear, I am not an empty body; the soul of life is me,
The meaning of love is me.
I am a woman -
Be honourable before me.
I regret to tell you that your golden age is a sham;
A spiritual wasteland, boundless and arid.
It is the age of ruin and savagery;
An age which confines your dreams
To prevent them reaching further than your bed.
I beg you - wake up and behold me!
